Time Slots
Our sessions all take place within two hours of sunrise or sunset for a reason—it's when we're most inspired by the light to create. Each time slot we have offers a different cinematic lighting experience and this guide will help you choose the art you're looking for. We'll never be able to pick a favorite time to shoot.
we offer 2-4 time slots on each day to keep our shoots as affordable as possible for our fellow dog lovers. extended shoots will give the flexibility of capturing all the different lighting available, while standard sessions offer one style of light.
1.5-2 hours before sunset
If the sun is setting at 8:00pm, and you're wanting to dance in the sun with cinematic flares in the background, you'll want to book a time slot that starts between 5:30 and 6:00pm. In these sessions, you'll likely receive a little more direction so we can frame the sun perfectly and create artistic photos that illuminate you and your dog in golden sunshine. This is the time slot that might be the most difficult to shoot in, but offers the most stunning and creative photos when done right, and it's why we offer sessions this early in the day. On a partly cloudy or cloudy day, this lighting is still stunning!
1 hour before sunset
This is the closest to "best of both worlds" for a standard session. The chance to capture those perfect sun flares and the even lighting all in one shoot, though not guaranteed. At some locations, this timeslot will get you even light the whole time, like at loveland pass or echo lake, but at flat irons,
30 minutes before sunset
If you yearn to press your luck for a colorful sunset, this is the session time for you. The lighting will always be stunning and even and majestic, and occasionally, we get lucky with a sky painted in momentary color. These sessions sometimes lean in a more "moody" direction, and always promise even lighting in every direction.
Sunrise
In the heart of Denver lies an adventure just like any other, your daily walk around the park. While we love our sessions that take place in the mountains, we love our city sessions just as much. Wash park is stunning most of the year and in the summer, our sessions are filled with the beautiful gardens maintained by the parks department.
