Reasons to Include Your Dog in Your Engagement

We've photographed many proposals. Over the years, we've told many love stories through photos, and our favorites always include your dog(s). Surprise proposals are one of our favorite things, and we love to see your dog's reaction to your partner popping the question. Here are a few reasons YOU should include your dog in your engagement:

  1. Unmatched Authenticity: Your dog is not just a pet; they're a cherished member of your family. Including them in your engagement photoshoot adds an authentic touch, reflecting the love and bond you share as a couple. Your dog's presence brings a genuine and unfiltered energy to the images, capturing the essence of your relationship in its purest form.

  2. Emotional Connection: Dogs have a remarkable ability to evoke emotions and bring out genuine smiles and laughter. Their playful antics, affectionate gestures, and unwavering loyalty can create heartwarming moments that are priceless. Having your dog by your side during the shoot can help you and your partner relax, fostering a natural and emotional connection that shines through in the photographs.

  3. Unique Personalization: Your engagement photos should reflect your personalities, interests, and shared experiences as a couple. Including your dog allows you to personalize the photoshoot and infuse it with elements that are uniquely yours. Whether it's capturing playful moments at your favorite park or snuggling up together at home, integrating your dog into the photos adds a distinctive and memorable touch.

  4. Cherished Memories: Your engagement photos are more than just images; they're cherished memories that you'll look back on for years to come. Including your dog in these photos not only honors their place in your lives but also preserves precious moments that encapsulate this significant milestone. Years down the line, you'll fondly reminisce about the joyous day when your furry friend joined you in celebrating your love and commitment.

  5. Symbol of Unity: As you embark on this journey towards marriage, including your dog in your engagement photos symbolizes the unity and companionship that you and your partner share. Your dog represents not only your individual bond with them but also the bond that you both share as a couple. It's a beautiful testament to the love, support, and mutual respect that form the foundation of your relationship.

We photographed Martina and Ryan's proposal on a snowy afternoon in Frisco, CO. I think you'll agree their smiles are the biggest, their emotions are the purest, and their photos are the most perfect. Consider including your dog in your love story. It'll be their best day ever too.
